The Museum of Cultural Arts Houston (MOCAH) has been providing positive cultural arts experiences to Houstonians and their families since 1999. MOCAH has become the leading provider or community based public art in Houston and one of the most valuable community assets in the Houston metropolitan area. We are very proud to have been recognized by Congress, Harris County Commissioners, the History Channel and the Mayor’s Office for our innovative approaches to community arts programming.

Here we are redefining the role a museum can play within the community-one art project at a time.

Since our inception in 1999 we have designed, produced and coordinated over 80 public art projects and community art programs across Houston. MOCAH serves 400,000 area residents and visitors to Houston each year through our public art murals, sculptures and designs . More than

MOCAH’s multidisciplinary and multicultural arts programs include performances in our downtown gallery space; educational classes in our studio, public art tours, and workshops serving individuals children through adult; artists' residencies; public art design and production consultation; and an extensive outreach program offered to low-income youth through our nationally recognized ArtworkZ Public Art program.
