Welcome |
Summer is upon us and we are keeping busy, there are murals to be painted, sculptures to be built and mosaics to be tiled. Beautifying our neighborhoods is hard work and we could always use a helping hand, be it through volunteering, or of course, our ongoing quest for financial support. Feel free to navigate through our site and check out our previous projects in Our Collection page. Have a great day and remember, MOCAH Moves Matter!! |

Buckboard Park |
 |
Buckboard Park is a public/private collaboration between the Greenspoint Redevelopment Authority, Knudson & Associates and the Museum of Cultural Arts Houston (MOCAH). MOCAH is designing several public art elements for the new public park that will be located in the Greenspoint area of Houston. The park will feature a walking trail, playground area, several artistic enhancements by MOCAH and sculptor Eric Ober. One phase of MOCAH’s creative contributions to the park entails (8) ceramic tile mosaic medallions that will be inlayed in the sidewalk throughout the park.
High School students from Yes Prep have assisted Reginald Adams, lead artists and Jessica DeAlba, artists’ assistant in the design and production of (8) colorful ceramic creatures. The designs range from 2 to 4 feet in diameter. Check out the video to see the artists at work.
The second phase of MOCAH’s work entails a 30’ long mosaic caterpillar. The caterpillar is currently being designed and fabricated and will be ready for mosaics in the early spring. Check back with us to view the work in progress. |
