As a part of our ongoing collaboration with Edison Middle School to transform the campus into a community destination for public art we are excited to announce the addition of five new mosaic murals to the school's collection of public artworks. Thus far, MOCAH has worked with students from Edison to design and produce 22 handmade ceramic mosaic murals that are spread throughout the school grounds. Twenty of the murals measure 3' x7', one of the murals compliments the school's new SPARK and it measures 5' x 33' and one of the murals covers the top and front surface of the attendance desk. This mural serves as a welcome sign for students and visitors to the school.

The newest additions to this growing collection includes five brilliantly colored mosaic murals which reflect various aspects of the community including: Culture, School, Public Safety, Natural Environment and Careers. Over a period of ten weeks, 15 students worked alongside artists, Reginald Adams and Reginald Thompson. to create these one-of-a-kind mosaic masterpieces. The group of students were divided into teams of three and each team was responsible for researching, designing and producing a mosaic mural reflective of one of the designated themes. Below are images reflecting the students at work.
