Israel Barbosa was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico on March 12, 1981. His art career began immediately after graduating from Jeff Davis High School working on mural and design projects with MOCAH's ArtworkZ Public Art & Design program as an artist-in-residence. To date, Israel has assisted in the production of over a dozen murals and design projects for parks, schools and community centers including; MD Anderson YMCA Mosaic Park, Sky's the Limit Mural, Fruits of 5th Ward Mural , The World Is In Our Hands Mural and Read to Succeed Mural. Israel currently instructs a ceramics class at Edison Middle School YO Houston: 5th Ward Work Source Mural Project.
